Our Dance & Art Program Director & Instructors

Mrs. Jasmine Ashley; Founder & Executive Director; Dance & Art Program Director and Dance Instructor Ages 6+

 Meet Mrs. Jasmine Ashley — known by her students as Ms. Jasmine is the Founder, and the Dance & Art Program Director of Jasmine’s Dance Movement Fine Arts Academy. With over 18 years of dance teaching experience, Mrs. Jasmine is passionate about inspiring young artists through movement, creativity, and self-expression.

Mrs. Jasmine began her teaching career in Omaha, where she taught dance for eight years before spending the next decade teaching in California. After years of teaching, choreographing, and mentoring students, she returned home to Omaha to pursue her lifelong dream of opening a fine arts academy — giving back to the city that helped shape her journey.

As the leader of the Dance and Art Departments, Mrs. Jasmine is dedicated to creating a nurturing and empowering environment where students can build confidence, grow in their talents, and develop a lifelong love for the fine arts.

Mrs. LaChe Gatlin; Petals Dance Instructor Ages 4-5

 Meet Mrs. Che, a passionate dance instructor and educator who believes dance is about more than just movement — it’s about building confidence, creativity, discipline, and joy. With over 10 years of dance experience and several years of teaching students ages 4–10, including competitive dancers, Ms. Che brings both heart and energy into every class she teaches. As an educator, she has a genuine love for working with children and creating positive learning experiences that help students feel seen, supported, and inspired.

Her warm and engaging teaching style creates an encouraging environment where students can grow, express themselves, and shine. Mrs. Che is dedicated to helping young dancers build strong technique and terminology while still making learning exciting, memorable, and uplifting. Passionate about serving her community through the arts and education, she loves watching her students BLOOM both on and off the dance floor.

Ms. Chelsea; Teaching Assistant & Sub

Meet Ms. Chelsea — a passionate and creative individual who has loved dance and the performing arts since childhood. She has a genuine love for children and enjoys helping create a fun, encouraging, and uplifting environment for young dancers to learn and grow.

As a Teaching Assistant and Substitute Instructor within our dance program, Ms. Chelsea is excited to support both our students and instructors throughout the school year. Her positive energy, caring spirit, and love for the arts make her a wonderful addition to Jasmine’s Dance Movement Fine Arts Academy, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our Fine Arts family.

Coach Keona Thomas, She Moves Dance Fitness Lead Instructor

 

Meet Coach Keona!! Coach Keona is a certified STRONG Nation® by Zumba® and Xtreme Hip Hop instructor who is passionate about helping women become stronger—physically, mentally, and confidently.

As the lead instructor of She Moves at JDM Fine Arts Academy, she creates an uplifting, judgment-free environment where women ages 19 and up can move their bodies, relieve stress, and reconnect with themselves through fitness and music. Her high-energy classes are designed to challenge, encourage, and inspire women of every fitness level.

Whether you’re stepping onto the platform for the first time or returning to your fitness journey, Coach Keona is committed to making every class welcoming, empowering, and fun. She believes fitness is about more than exercise—it’s about building confidence, finding community, and creating space to simply enjoy the moment.

Mr. Solomon; Art Teacher's Assistant

Meet Mr. Solomon, a talented artist and creative mentor with over 10 years of experience in the arts. His passion for creativity and artistic expression has allowed him to participate in numerous community art events, where he has shared his talent and love for art with others throughout the community.

Mr. Solomon is known for his creativity, attention to detail, and ability to inspire those around him through visual art. He enjoys encouraging students to think outside the box, express themselves confidently, and explore their own unique artistic abilities. His passion for both art and community shines through in everything he creates, making him a wonderful addition to the JDM Fine Arts Academy family.

Our Music Program Director & Instructors

Mr. Keenan; Music Program Director & Primary Piano, Beginners Drum & Beginners-Advance Organ Instructor

  

Mr. Keenan – Music Program Director, bringing piano, organ, and drums to life while inspiring students with every note. With over 20 years as a musician and 13 years of teaching experience, Mr. Keenan is passionate about helping students discover the joy and power of music. He teaches beginner to advanced piano, beginner organ, and beginner drum instruction, working closely with each student to help them grow in confidence, technique, and creativity.

Mr. Keenan truly loves teaching and is dedicated to instilling a lifelong love of music in children. His encouraging and patient approach creates a positive learning environment where students feel inspired to learn, express themselves, and reach their full potential through music.

Mrs. Linnetta Anderson; Primary Vocal Instructor and Secondary Piano Instructor

  

Meet Mrs. Linnetta – Vocal Instructor and Piano Teacher, guiding students as they develop their voice, musical skills, and confidence through the power of music. With her warm spirit, endless talent, and broad background in music education, Mrs. Linnetta brings both experience and passion into every lesson she teaches. She has a true gift for helping students feel comfortable, encouraged, and inspired as they grow in their musical journey.

Passionate about teaching voice and piano, Mrs. Linnetta loves helping aspiring singers and musicians discover their unique sound and build confidence in their abilities. Her patient and uplifting teaching style creates a positive learning environment where students are motivated to learn, express themselves creatively, and develop a lifelong love and appreciation for music.

Mr. Riley Dixon; Intermediate Drum Instructor

 Meet Mr. Riley — a passionate young musician with over 15 years of drumming experience and a lifelong love for music. Deeply involved in the Baptist church community throughout Omaha, Nebraska, Mr. Riley has spent many years using his talent and passion for drumming to inspire those around him through music and worship. Although he is a young musician, his dedication, commitment, and years of hands-on experience have helped shape him into an inspiring role model for aspiring drummers in our community.

Drumming has been a passion of his since early childhood, and one of the things he enjoys most is encouraging young people to grow in their confidence, creativity, and musical ability. Mr. Riley has a genuine love for children and is passionate about pouring positivity, motivation, and support into the next generation. His patient spirit, uplifting personality, and excitement for music make him a wonderful addition to Jasmine’s Dance Movement Fine Arts Academy.

Mr. Riley brings fresh energy, strong musical knowledge, professionalism, and a heart for mentorship to our academy, and we are excited to welcome him to our Fine Arts family as he begins this exciting new journey with us.

Jonathan Saffold; Intro Guitar Instructor

 

Meet Mr. Jonathanm our intro guitar instructor. With a lifelong passion for music and teaching to J.D.M. Fine Arts Academy. His musical journey began in the 4th grade with the cello before transitioning to percussion in the 5th grade. By 7th grade, he was playing the drum set and continued performing throughout church, high school, and college.

While playing with the Creighton University Pep Band, Mr. Jonathan discovered his love for guitar. After purchasing his first guitar in college, he taught himself to play and now enjoys helping beginning students build confidence and develop a love for music. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Mr. Jonathan believes music teaches lifelong lessons and has the power to bring people together. His patient, encouraging approach creates a positive learning environment where students feel inspired to grow. When he’s not teaching or making music, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Ms. Tasha Young; Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Director & Head of HR

  

Ms. Tasha is a warm, dependable, and valued member of our Fine Arts family who plays an important role in keeping our academy running smoothly behind the scenes. With over five years of experience as an assistant, she brings organization, professionalism, compassion, and a calming presence to our daily operations. Whether she is communicating with families, assisting with scheduling, helping organize events, or supporting staff and students, Ms. Tasha always approaches every task with kindness and care.

She is truly one of the special “behind-the-scenes” pieces of glue that helps hold everything together at our academy. Her dedication, patience, and willingness to serve make a tremendous difference to our school community each and every day. Families can always count on Ms. Tasha to provide a welcoming and supportive experience, and we are incredibly grateful for the heart, positivity, and hard work she pours into our Fine Arts family.
