Our Story
From the moment she stepped onto a stage for her first musical, painted in art class, and sang in church at just three years old, Mrs. Jasmine Ashley discovered a lifelong passion for the arts. As she grew older, that passion evolved into a calling to teach, mentor, and inspire others.
After teaching her first dance class at the age of 14, Mrs. Jasmine witnessed firsthand the powerful impact the arts can have on a child’s confidence, creativity, and personal growth. She saw students discover their talents, build self-esteem, and develop a sense of belonging through artistic expression. Those experiences sparked a vision to create a place where children could experience the same opportunities that shaped her own life.
That vision became JDM Fine Arts Academy.
Founded on the belief that every child deserves access to positive, enriching experiences, JDM Fine Arts Academy provides a safe and encouraging environment where students can explore dance, music, and visual arts while developing confidence, discipline, creativity, and lifelong friendships.
JDM Fine Arts Academy was established because the arts are more than activities—they are powerful tools that help young people grow, express themselves, and discover their potential. The academy exists to provide positive outlets for children while encouraging them to pursue their passions, embrace their gifts, and recognize the unique value they bring to the world.
More than an arts academy, JDM is a community dedicated to helping young people understand that their talents can create opportunities, open doors, and make room for them in life. Through meaningful instruction, performance opportunities, and a supportive environment, students are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and become confident in who they are.
Today, JDM Fine Arts Academy continues its mission of inspiring creativity, building confidence, and changing lives through the arts—one student at a time.
